This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the record.

Choose the Correct Office

Connecticut has no Fairfield County government or county sheriff. The right contact depends on whether the question concerns a municipal arrest, current state custody, a court case, or a person housed at a particular facility.

Municipal Arrest Records

Ask the police department that made the arrest for its report and any maintained booking or identification photograph. Bridgeport Records Division can be reached at (203) 581-5270, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; its online FOI portal is another request route. Bridgeport says arrest-related incident reports are unavailable from the department until the charges are adjudicated.

Stamford Police Records Retention Unit is at 725 Bedford Street, Stamford, CT 06901. Call (203) 977-4409 or email spdrecords@stamfordct.gov. Published counter hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Norwalk Records Unit accepts inquiries at npdrecordsunit@norwalkct.gov, (203) 854-3009, or (203) 854-3151.

Current Connecticut Custody

Connecticut Department of Correction Public Information Office
24 Wolcott Hill Road
Wethersfield, CT 06109
Phone: (860) 692-7780
Hours: weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Use the CT DOC Inmate Search for statewide correctional custody. A municipal arrest may never appear there if the person was released by police rather than committed to state custody.

Court Disposition

The Connecticut Judicial Branch criminal case lookup and the clerk for the court handling the case are the proper sources for pending case details and disposition. A police arrest entry states the accusation at intake; it does not establish guilt or show the final result.

Bridgeport Correctional Center

Bridgeport Correctional Center
1106 North Avenue
Bridgeport, CT 06604
Phone: (475) 225-8000

This is a CT DOC state facility for accused and sentenced people, not a Fairfield County jail. Facility staff are not the custodian for a municipal police arrest report.

The following routes cover the most common needs:

  • For a booking record or photograph, start with the county-area search and request paths, then contact the arresting police agency.
  • For a wanted notice or warrant issue, use Sheriff's Most Wanted and follow its official court and police routes.
  • For someone just arrested, check the arresting city's official log before checking CT DOC for later state custody.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use CT DOC; for a court result, use the Judicial Branch.
  • For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator.
  • For immigration detention, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator, which is not a criminal jail roster.
  • Call 911 for an emergency, not a records question.
